We are pleased to offer this map, originally created exclusively for the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Wine Marketing Program, to all Texas wine enthusiasts.
Great wine starts in the vineyard. With 8 AVAs, Texas has ideal geography, soils and climate for growing exceptional wine grapes. Texas is bigger than France, offering a wide diversity of grapes from warm-climate Mediterranean varieties to cooler climate grapes that enjoy the state’s higher elevations.
Texas is home to the third largest AVA in the country, the Texas Hill Country, which boasts rolling hills, pristine creeks, and limestone, granite, clay and sandstone soils. The majority of Texas grapes, however, are grown in the Texas High Plains, with calcareous soils, rich red sand and clay over caliche, and elevations over 4,000 feet.
From grapes to glass, Texas offers a wide range of wine varieties and styles that reflect the beauty of the Lone Star State.
Like the larger version, this approximately 22" x 22" map identifies Texas grape growing regions and faithfully replicates their unique topography in true raised relief.
Deciding Between Framed or Unframed OptionsThis 3D Texas wine map is available in two forms: poster-style, convenient for pinning to a wall or bulletin board, or fully framed and ready to be displayed as art. We carefully trim and mount each framed map to ensure a perfect fit in a sleek black anodized aluminum frame.
If you intend to showcase the map as decor, we encourage you to order a framed version up front. Our framed map prices are well below those of a typical framing shop, but we’re not able to provide frames separately for maps that have already been shipped.
