We are pleased to offer this map, originally created exclusively for the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Wine Marketing Program, to all Texas wine enthusiasts.
Great wine starts in the vineyard. With 8 AVAs, Texas has ideal geography, soils and climate for growing exceptional wine grapes. Texas is bigger than France, offering a wide diversity of grapes from warm-climate Mediterranean varieties to cooler climate grapes that enjoy the state’s higher elevations.
Texas is home to the third largest AVA in the country, the Texas Hill Country, which boasts rolling hills, pristine creeks, and limestone, granite, clay and sandstone soils. The majority of Texas grapes, however, are grown in the Texas High Plains, with calcareous soils, rich red sand and clay over caliche, and elevations over 4,000 feet.

We carefully trim, mount, and frame each map to ensure a perfect fit in a hand-assembled frame crafted of either solid wood or black anodized aluminum.
If you intend to showcase the map as decor, we encourage you to order a framed version up front. Our framed map prices are well below those of a typical framing shop, but we’re not able to provide frames separately for maps that have already been shipped.
